National Team Of The Week

College Soccer News - Men's National Team Of The Week - Week Ending November 1, 2020

The number of contests taking place this week was less than in past weeks due to several cancellations but the action remained brisk with key conference contests taking place. The College Soccer News Team of the Week recogizes individual performers on both sides of the ball who played a key role in the success that their teams enjoyed during the week.

Jacob Labovitz

Labovitz sent a shot into the lower left corner of the goal after receiving a pass from Kristo Strickler and sent a blast into the back of the frame in overtime to lead the Hokies to a 2-1 win on the road over Louisville in an ACC contest.

Kimarni Smith

Smith drove a left-footed shot into the bottom right corner of the net out of a free kick from just outside the box and controlled and sent a loose ball in the box into the back of the frame to play a key role in Clemson's 3-3 tie with North Carolina.

Calvin Harris

Wake Forest

Harris is a playmaker and difference maker for the Demon Deacons. He made the run he needed to make to be in the right place at the right time to find the back of the net in Wake Forest's 2-0 win over Clemson. Takuma Suzuki and Machop Chol assisted on the goal.

Santiago Herrera

Herrera scored with less than three minutes remaining in regulation with helpers from midfielder Milo Garvanian and back Matt Constant in UNC's come from behind 3-3 tie on the road with Clemson.

Fearnley tallied his third game-winning goal of the fall season when he found the back of the net for Georgia State just 44 seconds into their contest with Coastal Carolina. Georgia State topped the Chanticleers 2-0 to improve to 8-2-0.

Pablo Pedregosa

Pedregosa was a key part of a determined Wolfpack backline along with Pepe Garcia, Jamie Smith and Kendall Edwards that secured a hard fought 0-0 tie in Chapel Hill with rival North Carolina.

George Proctor

Proctor scored and put in a solid full shift on the defensive side of the ball in the Panthers 2-0 win over previously undefeated Coastal Carolina. The contest was Georgia State's fifth shutout so far this year.

Alberto Suarez

Suarez earns a spot on the CSN Team of the Week for the second week in a row. His header with an assist from teammates Kyosuke Kubota and Pablo Azcona gave the Bears the edge they needed to top Georgia Southern 1-0. He was also part of a solid Bear defense.

Ueland's converted a penalty kick and was part of a stout Virginia defense that gutted out a 1-0 win over Syracuse. A young Virginia team improves to 2-2-1.

Nico Benalcazar

Wake Forest

Benalcazar scored Wake Forest's first goal and was part of a bend but don't break Demon Deacon defense that contained an explosive Clemson attack to secure a 2-0 win over the Tigers at Spry Stadium in Winston-Salem. Wake Forest is now 6-1-1.
